Why did my messages not backup to my iPad

Just got an IPad and swapped out from a Microsoft pro for my business to I can take notes and photos of jobs and have them directly upload to my cloud and other devices. I also got service with this device and when I backed it up my IMessages didn’t transfer over? Idk how to get them onto this device any help is appreciated

Two places to double check:

On your iPhone, open Settings ➔ Apple ID (Your Name at Top) ➔ iCloud ➔ Messages : Ensure that Messages switch is set to ON.
On your iPad, open Settings ➔ Apple ID (Your Name at Top) ➔ iCloud ➔ Messages : Ensure that this switch is also set to ON.

Also ensure that you have successfully set up Messages on your iPad.
