how does one format an external hard drive when using only an ipad pro11” that diesn’t even recognize the new unformatted Seagate 5T HD? Agpple cm’t tell me. I have bnb purchase an App,e recommended powered Hub to help solve the issue, but no connection happened.
You cannot format any drive (HDD or SSD) with an iPad. You can format the drive with a Mac running the Disk Utility app. If you do not have a Mac then see whether the local Apple Store or an Authorized Service Center will help you format it.
