LG Ultra Wide monitor (34WK95U) and MacBook Pro 16 2019 fully loaded catalina 10.15.7 OS

The 5120 resolution LG monitor is excellent; as is the screen real estate. I do a ton of music and video work and I strongly recommend it ... BUT ... when I put the MacBook pro to sleep, I have to unplug the computer from the LG screen to wake the Mac, then re-boot the computer to re-connect successfully to the LG monitor (using thunderbolt / USB-C cable provided with the LG monitor) - re-booting every time to re-connect the computer and LG monitor is more of an annoyance than an issue ... but I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem - or found a work around solution? thank you! Hello

Thank you for posting in Apple Support communities. We understand that you are having an issue with the sleep/wake feature when connected to your external LG display that leads to unplugging and restarting and reconnecting the display.

We would love to provide you support on this.

When issues arise with Apple products one of the first things you should check is the Mac OS version. Based on the fact that your Mac OS version is Catalina we would recommend updating to Mac OS Big Sur because this is what allows all function and features to operate as they are designed to: How to upgrade to macOS Big Sur

This next resource tells you how to connect an external display, and although you have expressed the knowledge to do so we would recommend making sure all steps are followed: Connect a display to your Mac

This next resource tells you what to do if your external display isn't detected or resolution isn't displayed properly: If your external display isn't detected or appears blurry on your Mac

Thank you for allowing us to support you.

Have an awesome and productive day!
