MacBook Pro 2021 - cannot connect to internet

Hi,

Just bought a new MacBook Pro 2021 with M1 processor and running on macOS Big Sur 11.4.

Transferred documents/files from old MacBook Pro.

Have connected to 3 different routers and hotspot on mobile, but various apps (Safari, Appstore etc) says I am not connected to internet or are offline (other devices are working).

It starts to get frustrating as I am running out of options in my troubleshooting.

Tried to reboot to factory setting, but unsuccessful.

Any good suggestions on what I should do?

hmmm...

The most trouble free way to move to a new machine, is using the Setup Assistant on the initial boot of a brand new machine— you have one shot here. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205749

If that opportunity has past, the second best way is use the Migration Assistant.

For any new purchase you have complimentary call in support— I would take advantage of this

After an hour with customer support doing troubleshooting, trying various solutions, I ended up doing a factory reset.

After the factory reset, the wireless worked again and I could go online. great!

I used Migration Assistant to transfer files from old MacBook Pro (also on macOS Big Sur).

After the transfer the problem of not connecting to the internet reappeared. :( Not so great!

Any suggestions?

Should I limit the transfer to only certain documents and pictures?

Some applications which shouldn’t be migrated (Norton antivirus etc)?
