Instagram not allowing me to find my facebook friends

Unable to follow facebook friends on instagram. Nothing happens after I press "Connect" to facebook under discover tab. Then the option to connect to facebook disappears until I delete the app and install it again, it shows up again but still doesn't work. Can someone please help its really been hurting my social life for like years I tried everything I looked up and neither facebook or instagram will get back to me :(

Am I just doomed to lose all my old connections that stopped being active on facebook?

Troubleshoot Instagram:

A. Contact Instagram:

Ask instagram what is going on, and if it is a known bug that they are working on -- one that has yet to be fixed. They are the developer of this software. Start Here: Instagram Help Center - Instagram

B. Update the Instagram app:

Updating to the latest version may fix bugs an the like. Go Here: Update the Instagram App to the latest version - Apple
