outlook mail account can not verify account information

IPhone 6

I have been using the mail app on iPhone always to read, and send my outlook mails.

But now it won’t open.

I have tried to delete the account, to reinstall it. But it says

“outlook mail account can not verify account information”

I don’t even get to type in my mail or password.

What to Try:

A. Outlook App:

Have an Outlook/Hotmail Account? Use This: Microsoft Outlook on the App Store - Apple

B. See this post by Microsoft: Using app passwords with apps that don't support two-step verification | Microsoft

B. Chat with Microsoft: Start Here:  Microsoft Contact Us Virtual Agent - Microsoft Support. Important: Perform a chat session with Microsoft using a computer, as it would be more user-friendly doing so.

Use a New App Password:

Do you use an App Password? If so, try a new App Password. Sometimes, changes (i.e. reinstalls) are made to the system, and then mail server syncing becomes an issue (which is what assigning new App Password it intended to fix). So, for gmail, you would go here: Sign in with App Passwords - Google Account Help - Google

A: I can't install it, since Iphone 6 don't have IOS 13, and the Microsoft Outlook app require IOS 13.

B: I can't get to the side of where you normally would type in the password, since the page doesn't show up. It's just thinking white screen very short time, and then go back.

C: I will definitely try this on my mac, when I get home from work.

Thank you.

You are welcome.

Thank you for the followup.

Q1. "I can't install it, since Iphone 6 don't have IOS 13, and the Microsoft Outlook app require IOS 13."

A1. Works fine for me on my iPhone 6 --that's the best I can say.

Q2. "I can't get to the side of where you normally would type in the password, since the page doesn't show up. It's just thinking white screen very short time, and then go back."

A2. Restart your iPhone, and Perform an Update

Q3. "I will definitely try this on my mac, when I get home from work."

A3. Sounds like a plan. Ask them which app to use for iOS12. As a tip - Be careful of what you mention about troubleshooting Apple devices, or the rep might just blow it off, and say, "Talk with Apple". Arrogant though it sounds, the Microsoft Reps do perform that.

Q1. "Do you have IOS 13 on Iphone 6? When I go to software update, it says IOS 12.5.4 ajour, and shows no other update."

A2. No. My iPhone 6 has 12.5.4. My other iPhone is much newer, and it is fully up-to-date,

Q2. "Also didn't work :("

A2. Then, something is not syncing or is misconfigured, somehow. As to what, I'm not clear.

Q3. "Thank you for the tip. They couldn't help, but they were friendly."

A3. How arrogant of Microsoft. Typical, but so.
