Proxy setting not sticking

Proxy settings stay on “Off” after selecting “auto” and saving. Occurs on devices with iOS 12,13 and 14. Have reset devices And still occurs. Why?

Hello dennygod,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you might be running into some issues with proxy settings on your iPad, and we'd like to help.

To clarify, is your device enrolled in Mobile Device Management or any other type of profile? If so, you may need to use these steps, which are relevant for your iPad and iPhone: Set advanced network settings in the iOS Setup Assistant

"If you're the system administrator for an enterprise, advise your users to set up their new devices for advanced network configurations with iOS Setup Assistant.

  1. On the Hello screen, press the Home button or swipe up.
  2. On the Choose a Wi-Fi Network screen, press the Home button or press and hold the Side button for 2 seconds.
  3. Tap More Wi-Fi Settings.
  4. Next to your network's name, tap .

From this screen, you can adjust the following settings:

  • Set up an HTTP proxy
  • Define static network settings
  • Renew the settings from a DHCP server
  • Turn on BootP
  • Configure DNS"

We hope this helps.

Take care.
