Spotlight on iOS slow to the point of non-responsive

I have seen various iterations of this question over the years, but none of the solutions seem to have helped with my issue.

This has been going on for several iOS versions, and several iPhones that I have had. I don't even remember when it started.

The issue is that the Spotlight index seems to be getting corrupted over time. When I use my iPhone 12 Pro to do a Spotlight search, it can sometimes take 30+ seconds to return any results.

Sometimes Spotlight works perfectly, but lately 9/10 of the time it's super slow, and sometimes never responds at all.

Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, have any solutions worked? Given this has been going on with me for several versions of iOS, and several iPhones, I'm guessing this is a yet-to-be-fixed bug?

I've tried doing a hard reset on my phone several times. One time I even set up my phone as new, but eventually Spotlight always slows to a crawl.
