Pages Problem: Images in a Table of Conents

I am going CRAZY here. I have several full page images to add to a word processing document. I've tried everything but I cannot get them to show up in the Table of Contents. I can add them no problem but they simply do not show up in the TOC. I've been googling for hours. It's driving me mad can anybody help????

Here is another approach. I used the heading and heading 2 paragraph styles (bold), and then I entered the exact text that would be in the image caption. I applied the caption paragraph style to that text string, and set the text to white. This I followed with an image and the normal caption text below it.

By default, when the ToC is generated, it only picks up the Heading paragraph style, and one has to select that in the ToC, and then visit the Table of Contents tab in the right panel, and add the Heading 2 and Caption styles to that they would also appear in the ToC. The resulting ToC looks like this:

Thank you very much for your advice. I think the use of the caption text should be the answer but curiously although I tick the caption box the TOC will not pick up the caption text at all. I think that your workaround of using a heading behind the image in white text is probably the best solution. Another possibility I think would be to ignore the toc and instead have an independent table of figures which is entered manually but I'm not sure how to align the text with dot headers.
