Where are passwords stored on the iphone iOS 14 for APPs?

I need to find my password for various apps on my iphone. Going to Settings --> Passwords does not list passwords for APPS. Where has the stored APP password list moved to if it's not in the Settings --> Passwords section for some inexplicable reason?

iPhone XR, iOS 14

Thank you for your response. To give you an example APP, Spotify is not listed in the password list. This is the kind of password that was listed, but is no longer there. I'm aware that Spotify in particular has a reasonable password reset process, but many approved apps in the app store do not.

UPDATE: Just got off the phone with support. The stored APP password list was removed with IOS 14. But Apple has approved APPs with a password reset function which requires you to have the current password--which again, Apple has removed from the phone--so you have no way to reset the password. Utter insanity. Does anybody have any idea why Apple would remove the APP password list?!?! I would go to the apple feedback site, but after the Apple Mail debacle of the last OS it's evident they don't monitor the inbox. Would be interested to see if anybody has any insight on how/why removing the saved APP password list function was removed? What can possibly be gained?

Is this for MacOS or iOS? On iOS 14 (iphone) there is no option called "View the passwords stored in iCloud Keychain" within Keychain.

Let me put it this way: Let's say I have the Spotify APP installed on my iphone, but have never been to the Spotify website. Where, on my iphone, would I find my password for the Spotify APP without logging in to the Spotify APP?

Provide Apple Feedback:

Do your Part: This seems to be something that many could benefit from. So, provide Apple with feedback on this. Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more they hear of this, the more they will know what their customers prefer, and what to include in updates to come.

To Provide Feedback:

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Feature Request" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that you want this to be an option.
  4. Proceed form there as necessary

Did you scroll down? See the screenshot. It provides instructions. It may not be keychain, but it shows how to find it.

Have you Tried Keychain?:

See if these passwords are found in Keychain.

  1. Go here: If iCloud Keychain won't Turn On or Sync - Apple Support
  2. Scroll to: View the passwords stored in iCloud Keychain
  3. Proceed form there as necessary

Thank you, and I do appreciate very much your taking the time to respond, but this screenshot applies only to website passwords. This doesn't apply to APP passwords. To recreate the issue, choose an app on your iphone that doesn't have a corresponding website that you've ever logged into for that app, then try to find where that APP's password is stored on the iphone. That's what I'm looking for.

I really hope Apple actually reads their feedback on this issue this time (unlike with the Apple Mail debacle of Catalina which lasted over a year) and brings back the stored APP password list which was removed for no good reason.

MULTIPLE apps have a password reset function that requires you to either know the current password, or already be logged in--which again, requires you to know the current password. And since I don't imagine many people write down their APP passwords for their iphone apps (you've never needed to until now), there's literally no way to login or reset the password. By removing the APP password list, Apple effectively just turned the password reset function into "Contact the developer" for a ton of APPS. It's both unreasonable to ask of their users, and puzzling that this wasn't foreseen by them.

Thank you for clarifying.

Ask the Developer:

The mothod would depend on the App, itself. So, consider contacting the developer, asking them if this is an option. Their contact inflation would be found on the App's site in the App Store.
