I thought the whole point of the new control centre setup was that turning off Bluetooth there doesn't disconnect your apple watch or airpod. My apple watch stays connected but airpods get disconnected. it is really like that??
If you are talking about the wireless AirPods and not the wired EarPods then yes, they will disconnect if you turn off Bluetooth as they are connected to your phone via Bluetooth
