Watch backup??

If I want to be sure my Apple watch is backed up, do I have to unpair it on a regular basis then re-pair it and re add all bluetooths, and CC info that was lost?

I recently got a new watch. Most recent back up was from January 2019.

There has to be an easier way than this.

I did it at the AT&T store with their support.
