My verification code is going to my broken iPhone

Dropped my phone in water and can’t get verification code when I’m trying to sign my new phone into my Apple ID?

Can you put your SIM card in another phone to get the code texted to you or use another option listed at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204974 ?
