Why Can't My iPad Find My AppleTV App on My FireTV Stick?

I have the Apple TV app installed on my FireTV Stick. My TV is displaying "Display Mirroring" along with some other text pertaining to mirroring. On my iPad I swipe down diagonally from the upper right corner and see a menu which includes "Screen Mirroring" and select it. Then "Screen Mirroring" sits there apparently looking for a device which it can mirror to but never finds my FireTV Stick.

I will sure appreciate any advice, pointers, or sympathy. Thanks, Bob

Fire TV is not an AirPlay-enabled streaming device. FireTV supports mirroring from (modern) Android mobile devices, which uses a different protocol.

AirPlay compatible devices are the Apple TV box, select smart TVs, and select Rokus.

The Apple TV app is not involved for AirPlay use.

There may be third party software to bring additional functionality, but that is all unofficial, and could break at any time. Meaning that users shouldn’t call on Amazon or Apple for assistance.
