Name for Credit Application

When I came to the US back in ‘02, my parents legally put my last name down as just a single letter, “H”. This however is not my actual last name in my birth country(due to our status there, we were never given official documents records) My parents didn’t realize how much of a frustrating situation, when applying for important documents with just one letter as a last name. I’ve been meaning to change it but been having issues. I was wondering if I can use an alias name I go by here to apply for Apple Credit Card. Does anyone know what I can do??

Hi, I would advise you to get copies of your credit reports from the three major credit reporting agencies, TransUnion, Experian and Equifax. You can do that for free from the following link,

https://www.annualcreditreport.com/index.action

How are they reporting your name? When applying for credit cards and various loans, use the same name they have listed. This should also be the same name associated with your Social Security number.

You can also reach out to the support team at Goldman Sachs through the three methods below,

CONTACTING — Goldman Sachs Bank

• Using Messages; chat with an Apple Card specialist

• Calling us toll-free at 877-255-5923; or

• Writing to us at Lockbox 6112, P.O. Box 7247, Philadelphia, PA 19170-6112.

I hope this helps and it would be great if you posted a reply so the community would benefit. I’ve never heard of this issue before.
