I can access my Emails through the BT web site but not via Apple Mail

Has BT ( British Telecom ?? ) made recent changes wherein an Application Specific Password is required to access their Mail Service ??

Please refer to following as Apple has done for NON Apple Mail clients accessing iCloud mail require an Application Specific Password being established
