Iphone photo transfer

Today morning my iphone se screen stopped working abruptly, the siri works, music works if I ask siri to play some music, SOS also works, notifications are heard but the screen remains absolutely blank.

So I had recently got a new iPhone 12 as a spare which I switched on today changed my e sim to a physical one and have been struggling to transfer all the photos from my iPhone se but failing, even lost all my WhatsApp data. Can someone help me retrieve my photos?

iPhone SE, iOS 14

Were you backing up to your MacBook? If the phone was not powered down since your last backup you might be able to back up the phone to your MacBook. Plug it in and look under locations in finder. If you can access the phone there, you can select back up all the data on this phone to your Mac. It will display the last date of backup there too so you know when it's done. You'll then have a backup of your device so you can safely have the phone repaired/replaced and restore from that backup.

You may also be able to select the device directly in photos and import all new images. Open photos. Click on your device. This may require unlocking the phone.

If none of those work, and you know you have iCloud backup enabled, just leave the phone plugged in at least overnight. And walk away. You can see the last iCloud backup in iCloud.com/settings. Scroll to the bottom on your MacBook. If you use iCloud photos, your photos will back up to photos automatically but will not be in the iCloud backup. It doesn't sound like you use iCloud photos based on what you said about your pictures. So, hopefully the images will backup along with your phone to iCloud.

If you don't have any of that set, you're going to lose all the pictures since February.

Do you have iCloud backup set up? You may be able to restore your SE to your 12 from your iCloud backup? If the screen isn't working, it may still be backing up given that everything else seems to work. Leave it plugged in overnight

Do you have a backup to a computer?

Did you use iCloud photos with your SE? Simply toggle on iCloud photos on the new device (settings > photos).
