GoodNotes 5 sync with icloud

Anyone having issues syncing Goodnotes 5 with the icloud? I have tried various options.... I have confirm the icloud and goodnotes are both enabled on the ipad and inside the goodnotes app. When I try to "backup" or "export", I do not get the icloud target, only other apps. What am I doing wrong?
