Braided Solo Loop online sizing problem
Is everyone experiencing this when using Apples Loop Sizing Assistant online?
This isn't my first rodeo. I had the problem with my first braided loop and am having exactly the same issue with a new purchase for my wife:
When I measure my wrist and enter that number into Apple's sizing helper it tells me I'm a 7. I'm actually a 5.
We measured my wife (wrist size is 5.75") and were told she is a size 4. Her watch is a 44mm.
The band shows up yesterday and by our estimates it was over an inch too big so we did the math.
My wife's wrist is 146.05mm
The total size of the size 4 braided loop is 138.11mm
The size 4 measured without the metal tabs (as those go into the watch) is 130.2mm.
Again. We're trying to get to a total of 146.05mm using Apple's recommendations...
130.2mm - band without tabs
+ 44mm - the watch
174.2mm!!! It's a full 1.1 inches too big when following Apple's guidance.
So I go back to the online store to see if Apple publishes lengths in the specs and they don't. WHY NOT?
I wouldn't have waisted all this time if the measurement of the band was up there.
I'd also be able to tell if there was a simply manufacturing or packaging error without having to spend 40 min wasting Apple's time which ended up being fruitless anyway as support doesn't have access to total product dimensions.
At least when I had this problem I could step down several sizes and get what I wanted. My wife is likely something closer to a size 2 which isn't even available for a 44mm case.
Through all my decades with Apple I've come to expect better. I'm honestly stunned and just a little sad.
