Ethernet connectivity

My thunderbolt bridge is not active for the ethernet connection. Why?

I did find the answer but cannot find it again to attribute the person who wrote it. They had suggested that your old network locations will not display the an active ethernet bridge if you set those locations up without the adapter involved.

ANSWER: simply create a new location with the adapter installed. I renamed it to start with the word Ethernet so I know if I am using the wrong location when I'm using my hard wire ethernet connection.

It crosses my mind to describe the Location as another layer in Network settings that contains its own discreet list of connection modes, via interfaces, for various computers and other networked devices. You can't see certain interfaces under a given Location if you don't add them while that mode is active and available. It's genius really, but evidently some of us (me) did not understand that concept.

As I said in my original post, if you can't get your interface to be active, create a new Location and add it there.
