The ipad pro’s delete key is really a backspace and there isn’t an Fn key modifier to enable delete. How to achieve delete of characters in front of the cursor?

I saw reference to the globe key being able to achieve this if held with the ‘delete’ key, but it doesn’t work for me so I’m guessing the behavior changed.

Why restrict customers so they can’t delete content to the right of the cursor? Other grievances include a lack of escape character.

I have somewhat made the process easier if I have characters to delete to the right of the cursor. The most amount of time is gone placing the cursor to begin deleting to the left (since deleting to the right is not possible). To speed up the process, I Tap and Hold the Space Bar and the keyboard turns into a trackpad. I then slide the cursor to the spot where I begin deleting characters to the left. Yes, this is not a solution to delete characters to the right, however, this somewhat speeds up the process with efficient cursor placement.
