Chipping paint around camera rings.

Hello,

I have recently purchased a brand new black IPhone 12 from Apple. Yesterday I noticed that the paint around the camera rings are sort of bubbling up and chipping off, which reveals the silver underneath. I have made an appointment with the apple store, but I have heard from Apple support that apparently it’s cosmetic damage. I have not dropped the phone, and always keep it with a case. I have had many IPhones in the past and have never had this issue. Will Apple fix this free of charge?
