How to record from older audio device into 2019 MacBook Pro?

I'm trying to record from an older device with a 3.5mm output (headphone) jack into my 2019 MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro has only a speaker jack, no line in, so I'm thinking I need 3.5mm output to USB C input.

Can anyone tell me if this will do the trick: https://www.amazon.com/KOOPAO-Adapter-Headphone-Stereo-Compatible/dp/B085RSYYT8/ ?

If not, what do I need (that's affordable; I don't expect to have to do this often)?
