I ordered the MacBook Pro with intel chip and just now realized the m1 mbp would have been better so I was wondering if once the MacBook I ordered got delivered if I could exchange it at the apple store

An exchange is up to Apple. These are user-to-user forums. No one here has any say in returns and exchanges. Note that you have 14 days to return it. So, take it to the Apple Store, asking if this is an option for you.
