CNBC live video fails on iPad

I have an iPad mini 2 with software version 12.5.4. It's a model MF074LL/A.


I use the CNBC application and have current version. It launches from iPad and I can view saved videos there however I cannot watch Live TV. I get message "An error has occurred. Tap to try again." I am able to "Listen" to the live stream. It's just the live video that fails. This has worked in past and I think stopped working several weeks ago.


I can launch CNBC and view Live TV on my iPhone 6s so it does not appear to be an issue with my subscription.

I never did get any feedback from developers or info from Apple community. What I think I determined is that both the iPad Mini and iPad Air devices are no longer supported with Apple updates. Both devices are at iOS 12.5.4 and show "software is up to date." They do not recognize iOS 13 or 14 as an upgrade to download.


Related matter is that the CNBC application works on that level of iOS except for the live video feed. Fortunately I can log into my cable provide from those devices and then view CNBC live just fine.

It appears you're unable to watch a live video stream in the CNBS app on your iPad mini 2, but can use other aspects of the app or watch the live video stream on other devices.
