Trying to run apple diagnostics, but it is stuck on rotating globe and wifi network

I am trying to run apple diagnostics on my 2016 MacBook Pro but it always gets stuck on the rotating globe and Wifi network.

My Wifi works just fine and I'm able to connect when using the Mac. When I go into apple diagnostics (Press the D key while booting) it asks me to join a WiFi network, which I do, and it connects to my Wifi network. However, it then just sits there on that same screen (rotating global and Wifi network name, showing it is connected) and there are no other options. I cannot do anything else.

Why does it ask to connect to a wifi network when all I want to do is just have it run the diagnostics for the MacBook Pro? Why does it just sit on the same screen after connecting to the WiFi network and do nothing? There's no button to continue, nothing at all.

Very frustrating to try and run a diagnostics test and nothing happens.

Any help would be appreciated. I have also tried to press Option + D but I get the exact same results.
