I have an older iPhone 6S with 16GB of storage. It says I currently have used 15.8GB and I'm VERY limited to what I can do. My system takes up 6.2GB and ALL my apps, photos, text messages, etc. take up just under 4GB. So, how do I locate the "missing" 6GB of storage?

If you go to Settings>General>iPhone Storage, you will see a graphic that explains what storage is used for. How much Other is used? A 16GB phone is not good for storage of much at all. That is one of the reasons that Apple no longer sells iPhones with that small a storage capacity. You can try creating a current backup of your iPhone and then restoring that backup. Make sure that you have checked in photos and if you have any in the Recently Deleted folder that you delete them from there. That will help recover some storage.

You probably cannot see all of the system storage. Like I said, you will probably get some recovered if you do the restore I mentioned in my first reply.
Oh okay. I haven't looked in the deleted folder. I have NO DATA in the "Other" folder however. I uploaded ALL my pics to the cloud and then deleted them off the phone. That recovered some data, but I just can't figure out where 6GB of storage has gone. But I'll go check out this deleted folder. Thanks!!

I emptied out the deleted items, but I only gained about 3MB.
Something has eaten up 6GB somewhere. I guess I'll wind up getting another phone eventually. Thanks for your help!
