Where do I enter apple ID verification code on imac Yosemite?

I'm using a iMac with Yosemite andI'm trying to update it, but anytime I go to the apple store and I insert the password, I don't get any box to insert the 6 digits code that was sent to my phone.

There is no box there for it.

I already went to "system preferences", "iCloud", "accounts details", "security" and also no option there to "get a verification code", only my telephone number in the box above.

How can I fix it?

Thank you

iMac 21.5″, OS X 10.10

Hey edivania01,

It sounds like you're not seeing a place to enter in your verification code. We can understand wanting to look into that further. We want to help.

To enter your verification code, you'll need to add it after your password in the password field. You can learn more about that here: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID

"What if I use two-factor authentication on a device running older software?

If you use two-factor authentication with devices running older OS versions—like an Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation)—you might be asked to add your six-digit verification code to the end of your password when signing in. Get your verification code from a trusted device running iOS 9 and later or OS X El Capitan and later, or have it sent to your trusted phone number. Then type your password followed by the six-digit verification code directly into the password field."

Thanks!
