Bumper and Invisible shields

I'm using the Apple bumper case and the Power Support front and rear shield. Looks and works great. The Power Support brand shields lay down with a perfect fit. I bought some off brand front shield from Walmart a few weeks ago when I first got my iPhone and it was junk - the edges never laid down completely.

I am having a small issue with the edges peeling up on my invisible screen. I am using a rocketfish case temporarily until some of these other case companies pull their heads out and get it together and get some cases out there. I originaly tried an ifrogz luxe (which I liked a lot on my 3gs)and there was no way it was going on with the shield on. I think the problem is that now the glass goes all the way to the edge, whereas before there was the chrome bezel.

I had been using power support until I got my hands on SGP Steinheil Ultra Oleophobic film. It gives a glass look. I now have it on my ip4 and looks great. Other shields, you can clearly say that there is some plastic on your phone. Zagg nowhere comes closer to both power support and SGP for sure. SGP also provides coverage for steel band around.

I no longer us any case or bumper but I had no problem with it using with SGP as well as Power Support films on. I only use Beyza strap classic case when its in my pocket.

I myself am using the ZAGG invisible shield, I was told by the techs at Best Buy that it would be ok to use with a case provided I let the invisible shield sit for three days to allow it to cure to the phone. I guess once the shield has been attached for longer than three days it is good to go. Besides, the ZAGG shield should come with a lifetime replacement, so if yours gets ruined, just contact them and get a new one in return.

I originaly had a Zagg full body with a bumper...then eventualy replaced the sceen protector to SGP Oleophobic...

Bodyguardz offer 2 sets of invisible body shield film...$25
SGP Seinthill EX offers a hard plastic (very similar to PowerSupport if not better) front and back protector with an invisible shield side protector...get this its 2 sets...$21
Wrapsol Ultra is the most glassiest out of Zagg and Bodyguardz and dont feel rubbery...$20 at walmart (web site has it for $30!!!)

I think sgp ex is you best option if you want to use the bumper...hard plastic front and back compared to rubbery feel of film shields...

Me i eventualy decided that i realy want a naked iphone but i want some protection...i opted for Wrapsol Ultra...its thicker than BodyGuardz and Zagg so i dont think bumper case will fit, but claims that the thickness is good enough for 6 foot drop...but i Still use the SGP Oleophobic as my screen protector...now im happy...

I had an Invisible Shield on my 2G phone for years and it worked like a charm. I sold the phone after I got my 4G and got top dollar for it on eBay because it appeared as new.
I now have the IS kit on my 4G, along with a bumper. No issues with screen resolution/appearance with IS on the front of either phone. Also doesn't smudge like the glass does.

I have the zagg invisible shield on the front and a custom skin on the back of my phone. The black bumper was better looking than I thought it would be and fits it fairly well. Unfortunately, the bumper is causing a couple of the edges of the back skin to peel up, but that can be easily pushed back down. Maybe if the skins were just a teensy bit smaller then it'd be perfect, but I think I can live with it. I really enjoy the look though.

I've always used the Power Support screen protectors ever since my 1st gen Touch. I don't like the matte finish ones because I feel like they degrade the beautiful quality of the screens. I go for the Crystal screen protectors, and they've always looked great. I've just ordered my front and back Crystal Screen protector from them again, and I can't wait to get them on teh phone. I think the bumper with these will be the way I end up going. It looks great in the bumper. Just wish all my old peripherals fit into the bottom...

Personally I'm just using the Black Bumper, and I'm a field service tech that gets into a lot of nasty environments, mostly can scratch or break the glass. I've had my 4 since a week after launch, preordered, and don't have a single scratch on either the front or rear, and I'm not being super careful, just doing my normal routines. I am using a Marware drop in hip case, no latches, that I got for the 3GS.
Now, as far as screen protector companies... I don't like Zagg one bloody bit, I got the cover for my iPad Wifi+3G, let it cure just like they said, and two weeks later the screen protector is covered in tiny scratches from my finger nails (not long, just at the tips of my fingers) and is so dull I can't see the screen clearly. After three weeks and trying to clean the cover I got so fed up I ripped it off and threw it out. I use the Apple iPad cover and no screen protector, take it to work and haven't gotten a scratch or nick. Plus my two year old daughter watches some movies on it and use the preschool apps I added, yes I know she's an exception to the rule of toddelers who are more likely to throw an iPod or iPad, but no problems.
Ipersonally can't make a suggestion for anti scratching, except invest in the Apple branded products. If you're concerned with finger prints, iKlear is the best cleaning kit I've seen so far. Works great for me. Hope that helps.

I got the Zagg invisible shield, but I only applied it to the back of the phone and the sides. I decided not to apply it to the front because I don't want to blur the screen. In my experience, all my friends that have the front shield on have a blurry screen (at least to my eyes).

Any thoughts?

Thats what I'm using. So far so good!

On ebay I got for $12.95 shipped-Wall Charger, Car Charger, Black silicone / gel case and screen protector. The front screen protector is a good brand too, had 2 tabs and small square cardboard card. Went on smooth and no bubbles! It came with a black silicone/gel case. The Apple one I ordered won't come in until Sept. 20th so I'll use this one in the meantime. It actually does help with recpetion.

I'm sure it takes away a little bit of the clarity, but the protection factor is the trade-off. Honestly I am toying with going without just because of the edges peeling up, but knowing me it would be scratched within days.

Kurt: I might have gotten someone that really didn't know what they were doing. I actually have less smudges on the iPad without IS than I did with it. Or I get into some really nasty environments that transferred to the IS and were eating at the cover. Hard to tell at this point, and to be honest I use both the iPhone and iPad too much to let them sit and cure. I actually leave my MacBook at home and access it with LogMeIn from both devices, had my company truck broken into twice and had two different notebooks stolen, so LogMeIn and the iPhone and iPad were god sends as far as not losing another computer, which my wonderful company won't cover because they were personal property.

Sorry all, got off topic... I've used some other non Apple products in the past, almost lost my first gen intel MacBook because of an off brand battery that wouldn't charge correctly. So, because of past experience, I'm going to stick with OEM products from Apple. But, as everyone can see, others have had different experiences. So, trial and error, and go with your gut would be my best advice.
