Difficulty with apple pencil

I have a new iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil 2. I'm writing this the pencil I this with them. With the pencil. It's accurate about 80% of the time but then it goes crazy and it takes more time to fix things than regular typing. The biggest problems are:

Random line returns. It's not happening right now in safari but it happens all the time in Notes

Words randomly get left out and I'm not able to insert the word. When I start writing the next word is at the end of the current line or on a new line.

It just happened.

Words get inserted above where the cursor is

I was hoping to use the penal as my main writing method but so far it doesn't look possible. Perhaps I'm expecting. To much. Any advice?

I have had the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil 2 for a few months. I am in agreement with you. It does a great job in writing and duplicating the writer's strokes etc. Does a great job in artistic apps as well.

The issue comes when handwriting is converted to text. During conversion, there is so much that depends on the translation that the system is bound to make mistakes (and it does). I agree that there is a lot of room for improvement in this area.

Note, the Apple Pencil does its job and the iPad does its job. The software has challenges when converting writing to text. I believe that Apple makes significant improvements, in this area, year over year.

Axel, thanks for validating what I thought was the case. ,I’m disappointed to discover that the pencil is not really fit for use as a serious writing instrument. Apple doesn’t make that clear in their advertising. I suppose I’ll return it while I can and maybe wait X generations till they get it right.
