Google Maps police, hazard, etc., icons

Waze shows me where speed traps etc are and I can add or subtract similar warnings. Googlemaps is supposed to have this feature, but I cannot find how to get my iPhone to do this. I have turned on Notifications etc for Googlemaps, as instructed. I connect the iPhone to my 2019 Crosstrek via CarPlay.

You do know that Waze is owned by Google?

Waze is a lot more flexible, however, because its maps are maintained by volunteers and can be updated quickly. For example, I reported an error in the location of a specific venue (it was technically the correct coordinates for the venue, but it wanted you to stop on a bridge over the venue and jump off) and it was corrected within a week to the actual entrance of the venue. You can even volunteer as a maintainer. I did.

I did know that Waze is owned by Google. Perhaps that is why it works so badly on my present brand new iPhone 12Pro and even worse on my previous iPhone. I use Waze because of the "hazards" feature, but I hate it because it requires deinstalling and reinstalling too often, many features come and go. Their directions are not as good as Googlemaps' either. Yes, I know about the volunteer aspect, but so what? Doesn't make it better in any way I can think of. I want to see if Google is any better with the "hazards" feature.
