Macbook Pro re-starting when closed and disconnected from power

Hi there,

I had a MacbookPro mid-2012 16" that strangely started re-starting when not connected to power and closed even though the battery was full. This happened after I had the battery replaced so I was advised that it was a hardware issue and since the machine is so old, it was simply starting to corrupt. I subsequently bought a new 2019 MacBookPro 16 inch, 2,3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 1 TB SSD and have just experienced the same issue with the machine re-starting while closed and disconnected from power even though the battery is full. This is therefore a software issue in my opinion. I have updated all apps (except for upgrading to Big Sur, I'm currently running Catalina 10.15.7 and am too nervous to upgrade). I also don't use any peripherals like extra screens. Here's the problem report I received. Any help appreciated - hate to think I've bought a brand new MacBookPro to solve a hardware problem that's actually a software fix - but would still like the fix :)
