Can somebody explain why iTunes does not open when i connect my iPhone on my windows PC. This used to happen but no longer.
I have tried looking in the Summary/Options in iTunes but there is no longer the option to
"Open iTunes when a device is connected"
I am running iTunes Version 12.11.4.15 is it something to do with that?

Hmm, in which case it may be a bug in this build. I think there is a component called iPodHelper.exe that runs as a startup process if/when you've opted to have iTunes open automatically. Probably not the first time it has been left out. You might want to revert to the last build that this worked in. See links to recent builds at the very bottom of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

Have you installed iTunes from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10? It is possible that version doesn't include the helper app that watches for devices to connect and then potentially launches iTunes.

Hithank you for the swift response as far as I am aware it was the Apple install not through Windows. Although i maybe wrong, I had a pop up yesterday prompting to install the latest ITunes version which I have done, how do I tell the difference?
If the help menu includes an option to check for updates then you've got a standalone download from Apple.
