iphone 7 plus stuck on white screen with apple logo and won't turn off
I have an iPhone 7 Plus and 2 months or so ago I got a warning to replace the battery. It was charging at around 70%. I went online and read that I could keep using it and that there was lots of life left in it. So that's what I did.
So last night my screen froze as I was trying to import my newer photos from the last 2 weeks into photos. Then the phone stayed stuck on the white screen with apple log and wouldn't turn off. I tried hard reset. Holding the low volume button and the right power button. It's like the push button on the bottom has no click to it anymore. I let the battery go dead because I couldn't turn it off.
Now it's cycling between the white screen with apple logo and then turning off and then turning on again over and over again. I'm pretty sure it's the battery that needs to be replaced but not positive it's the battery. When I try charging my phone with the power cord I still get the white screen with apple logo.
I tried downloading tenorshare reiboot but my phone isn't recognised at all no matter I do. Tried to see if I could get my phone to back up in iTunes but my iphone doesn't show up at all. I don't have a backup of it and the backup I did do a few weeks back is gone as my main computer crashed and is now back.
I'm thinking it's not worth fixing at this point because it's an older moldel. I was planning on getting a new phone in the next few months but now I have an immediate decision.
So my questions are:
- Is there anyway to get the data off of it? If not it's not the end of the world if I can't
- If I can't get the data off is there a way to wipe it clean with the state it's in? Can I stick a pin in the side of it or take the Sim card out?
