Is it possible for an Apple Watch while on roaming to have messages show up that the watch user doesn’t recall sending

This might be a ridiculous question but I am currently searching for answers. Is it in anyway possible for an apple watch to pick up conversations from other devices while the apple watch is on wifi but not near the iphone? This happened where my boyfriend left his apple watch at home, he has messages on his apple watch that he doesn’t recall. I found the messages because he left his watch behind another time and I’m wondering if it’s possible? Any info will help thanks so much!!

Hello Kbionaz16,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you'd like to know if an Apple Watch could show other conversations/messages from a non-associated device. We'll do our best to assist.

It's not possible for an Apple Watch to show any other information but what has been set up. Meaning, if it's associated/paired to an iPhone, it will not pick up other iPhones.

If your partner left the Apple Watch at home, it's possible that they would still receive messages on the Apple Watch, if connected to Wi-Fi. And it's also possible, they may not recognize the messages, if it didn't show up on their iPhone or other associated devices.

Check out the 'Secure Pairing' section here: System security for watchOS and iMessage security overview

We're hoping that gave you some insight to how it works. Let us know if that inspires further questions.

Take care!
