Ipad Wiggly lines

I noticed this morning that whenever I draw slanting lines it’s always wiggly but if it’s vertical or horizontal line, it’s pretty straight. I’ve never noticed this kind of problem before. Is it normal or

I need it to be checked? Is it the ipad or the pencil that has a problem?

Btw I am using 1st. Gen apple pencil and ipad 8.

Hi there Bbibbi269,


We understand you're have some trouble drawing a straight line at some angles.


Are you encountering the behavior in more than one app?


If you draw the line, and hold the tip down at the end for a moment, do you get the desired result?


Try replacing the tip of the Apple Pencil. If you haven't used it yet, there was one included in the original box.

Make sure the tip of the Pencil is screwed on securely and snugly ( NOT TOO tight! ).

Also, have you checked the tip of your Pencil lately?

If no joy,

You need to search online for your nearest, “local” Apple store location and call contact phone numbers and call to make an appointment to have your Apple iPad AND Pencil diagnosed and options presented you.


Failing that,

You need to contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities.


Use the Hardware Repair, Device Performance, Connectivity support categories.
