M1 iPad Pro audio engine issues

My problem is the audio engine keeps turning off, but it only affects the DAWs. All my stand alone apps seem to work fine. Right now, the only fix seems to be turning off the iPad and restarting it. This is very annoying when I’m in the middle of recording. Sometimes it even happens in playback. I’ll finish a track. Go listen to it, and there’s no sound. This issue’s not been addressed in any of the updates since I got it. It isn’t the DAWs, because when one goes down, they all go down. GarageBand, KorgGadget, Cubasis, NanoStudio, BeatMaker, etc, are all affected. This never happens on my older iPad Pro. It’s seems to be an M1 specific issue.

Hi Inquisitor0023,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand that your audio apps lose sound periodically when in use. Make sure you're running the latest software version in Settings > General > Software Update. Check for available app updates in the App Store. How to manually update apps on your Apple device can help with updating. Try using different output to se if this behavior continues, such as using headphones.

Regards
