Passcode not working
My ipad mini all of a sudden wont accept my passcode. I have not change it in the 8 years I've used the unit. What should I do?
I am entering it correctly so please don't ask that :)

Hold It Right There!:
Enter the passcode incorrectly too many times, and you'd likely be locked out for good. So, hold it right there, and refer to this link: If you Forgot the Passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is Disabled - Apple Support. It would be the one you've always entered. If you do not know it, then look for it in a location you may have stored it in.

Use this Link: If you Forgot the Passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled - Apple Support. Copy & Paste error.

B. "Also I did not forget my password. It just stopped being accepted. Maybe because of a late night update or something."
Provide Apple Feedback:
Do your Part: Seems like a glitch in this update. So report this update issue to Apple. Apple Support will not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is going on and what needs to be fixed.

C. "I'm updating my Itunes on my PC at moment to see if that works. What is interesting is that the iPad Mini will charge on a battery or cord, but when I connect it to my computer it will not charge. My phone does but not my iPad."
Sometimes when changes are made to the system(i.e. Updates), system configurations (i.e. for Power) become manipulated, technically. So, reset the SMC(if applicable) and NVRAM. Try performing each thrice. It may take sometime, being certain you have the time to perform these resets.

D. "It appears I can't connect my ipad to my computer unless without passcode so I'm hitting a wall."
Contact Apple Support:
Provide Apple with you purchase information. If need be, scan, or take photo of you original plan of purchase.
Note: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due do lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

"Passcode not working: Thank you again. I reported the issue. I don't need to save any of the info on the iPad. So I'm not upset about loosing any data on unit. Is there a way I can just do a reset, and then re-log into the ipad and my account. Also for the few times a month I use it really not looking to get sold into a service plan."

You are welcome.
Thank you for the update. Great job leaving feedback --it will help many, for certain👍
Getting Back In:
The only way to get this unlocked is to show Apple your original proof of purchase. So, contact Apple Support. This is a theft deterrent. I'm not certain why it would just do this, though my assumption is that it is a glitch in the update. So, tell Apple Support that this occurred unknowingly by this automatic update installation that occurred. Here is the info:
