Can't connect my Panasonic GX80 camera to my MacBook Pro M1.

Hey! my problem is that I cannot connect my Panasonic GX80 camera to my MacBook Pro M1. I purchased the necessary adapter, but when I connect the camera via the USB cable, my laptop does not react to it in any way. I tried to search through devices, but hopelessly, please help!

Perhaps find a 'suitable card reader' and swap the cards as they fill up.

My old Panasonic Lumix needed one, since cables were problematic.

A nicer DSLR Nikon seems like hefty iron compared to the Lumix. Yet

image quality for some uses runs good to excellent with Nikon+optics.

While the fixed-mount Lumix has its charm; perhaps its collectible now.

The Lumix may or may not have suitable drivers for camera.

The card should work OK w/ Reader, Cable & USB-C adapter.

Not sure how Panasonic support is now. Is camera vintage?

Not sure if that camera series uses 32-bit software/drivers, or has joined the modern era

with 64-bit software/drivers. And USB-C adapter with correct/proper cables may help.

With Apple M1 macOS there's 'Image Capture' utility; that may still require card reader, etc.

[Panasonic support may or not be helpful. They're likely tuned to work with Intel-Macs.]
