Sill image (single picture screen saver)

It is a bit unfortunate that the photo screen saver for your home sharing photos seems to insert a blank spot in between cycling the available pictures.

1. Prep your images as 16:9 files at screen resolution.
2. When dealing with one image and home sharing screen saver, you can minimize the effect by making multiple copies of the image, so that the blank only comes on after cycling all the available images, and the dissolve transition would mostly go invisible to an identical image.
3. You can choose to use a different app for this purpose. There are quite a bunch of “digital signage” apps in the App Store.

For digital signage, I’ve been playing with ConfBoard lately. You would store images online, along with an index file of URLs. (Note: for the images.txt file, remove any line feed after the last entry, else the app may cycle the images just once.)
