iPhone inserting a 1 in front of numbers when I do not dial it

All of a sudden, when I call a number with my same area code, there is a "1" inserted - but not by me! I keep getting the message "You do not have to dial a 1 or 0 when calling this number".

Hi, Cindi18, and thanks for reaching out. We understand that your iPhone seems to be adding a country code automatically. We'll be glad to help out.

If you use iCloud for Contacts, verify the number isn't being added at this website from a computer: iCloud

If you use any other account (like Google or Yahoo), be sure to check their appropriate websites to see if the +1 is being added.

Check which default account you're using by going to Settings > Contacts > Default Account. Make sure it's the desired account you want to use and hasn't been changed.

If everything looks correct and you're still having issues, try a normal restart of your iPhone: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

We hope this helps out.

Cheers!
