There is a lot of misinformation out there, because there is a similarly named trojan that is used to insert adware in browsers and java based apps via daemon scripts.
Libexec not the problem; rather the likes of Norton security software is that erroneously reports it presence as a threat.
Best path is REMOVE Norton not this important standard Unix binary

The /usr/libexec folder on macOS Big Sur (and earlier versions of macOS) is a legitimate part of the operating system and cannot be removed anyway because it resides on a read-only filesystem.
The two items were malware and not part of macOS. The Libexec naming in these items was coincidental. I trust Malwarebytes to do the right thing, and in your case, it did. Contemplate what you installed just before you saw these messages appear. That was likely the attack vector.

Thank you. I run Malwarebytes for MAC os. A pop up came in from the upper, right side of Home Screen, saying I need to install these updates. I did. Later info came up saying 2 things will hurt your computer: libexec Service Records. And. Libexec Receiver Helper. I clicked on these two and sent them to the Trash. Was that wrong? Thank you for your help!!!
