unable to hear siri, it hears me, but i only see the reply in text, no sound

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. From your post, it appears there is no sound from Siri after making an inquiry. We'll do what we can to help.
Make sure the volume is turned up first: Adjust the volume on iPhone
If it is, there is a setting that might cause this: Settings > Accessibility > Siri. Under 'VOICE FEEDBACK' make sure it is set to your liking. For example, if set to 'With Silent Mode off' make sure Silent mode isn't on: How to put your iPhone on vibrate, ring, or silent mode
