I was using presonus firestudio mobile, but it won’t work on my new Mac. I need just a couple of inputs for recording, and outputs for my powered studio monitors. What audio interface has someone had good experience with on Big Sur?

An interface depends on your needs and requirements. There are lots that are supporting Big Sur just check with the vendors website prior to purchase. Many were lagging but they are getting up to speed. Same can be said for M1 hardware support. Also watch out for any plugins you own form third parties. Many are lagging Big Sur support and it is causing headaches!. Personally I am in no hurry to upgrade from Catalina because waiting for the plugin vendors to get caught up and bugs resolved.
