S6 Apple Watch sensor LED green lights don’t automatically turn off

Apple Watch sensor LED green lights don’t automatically turn off.

I know you can turn them off by going into the iPhone watch app in privacy and turning off the first button, heart rate; but why should you have to do this? The lights should automatically turn off when you take it off your wrist as there’s nothing for the sensors to sense. This seems to be a significant problem with that watch, as it drains the batter rapidly, and constantly have to remember to turn them off.

The lights should automatically turn off when you take it off your wrist. You shouldn’t have to go into privacy on your iPhone and turn off heart rate..

Not using Strava, but looking into its uses. Is there a way to fix this green sensor light problem on the S6 Apple Watch?

Searching for answers thought I would add the following information so no unnecessary responses.

This seems to be a prevalent problem for a lot of folks and hopefully someone will have an answer, or Apple will have an update to sense when the watch is not on the wrist, and these lights go off automatically, as they should.

Work out app is closed and not active in the background, check by clicking the side long button.

The only way to turn off these lights is to restart the watch, put on the charger, or turn off heart rate in privacy settings in the Apple Watch app. This is not a fix, but an unnecessary activity to turn off battery draining LED lights that shouldn’t be on when not in use, or when the watch is taken off the wrist. The workout app and Nike app are both turned off and not in active, and there is no running Man icon.

I sure hope someone has a fix for this pervasive problem, or Apple fixes this issue.
