How do I change the down allow setting when installing a app? First off let me say that this is my first MacBook and I am trying to find answers online before asking questions. I am trying to install a app specifically Norton Anti Virus, and when I asked if I wanted to download the files to install I hit down allow like a big dummy, and anyone tell what setting I need to change either in settings or in the browser to allow the download so I can get the software installed? 'You do not have permission to open the application' appearing when I download new apps. Ever since the latest Big Sur update, whenever I try to open an app that I have downloaded from a browser on my MacBook Air, a popup appears saying 'You do not have permission to open the application "name of app" Contact your computer or network administrator for assistance.

Transmission v3.0, the current version, was released in May 2020. There is nothing in the v3.0 release notes about compatibility with macOS 11.*, even though it was written in Objective-C. It may or may not work with Big Sur, even if you built it via homebrew.
