Address Book - enter data stops, then popping sound, cursor disappears

Has anyone had this problem: Open address book; go to the "notes" part below the address information; enter some data. Example: Enter "met at the xyz bar". However, after typing "met at t" the cursor disappears, then there is a popping sound.

Start again, go to the "at t", click, and try to keep entering the rest of the information. After 3-4 characters, the same problem again.

Basically, the address book ejects the process and ejects the cursor.

Boot into Safe Mode according to Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support and see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and check again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
