MacbookPro screen lighting

I've got a 2016 MacBook Pro (LED) with touch bar. The bottom lighting is messed-up. It

looks like there are little spotlights evenly spaced across the bottom

of the screen. I saw a conversation thread about this from 2011, but I'm hoping there's more info about now? Any hints, other than going to a Genius Bar?
