Scamming - iPad resetting/ cleaning

hi,

my mother got a phone call recently from a scammer who tried to gain to gain access to her iPad. She was on the phone for 30mins before she realised it was a scam and hung up.

She was advised by her Bank that the iPad needs a ‘deep clean’. I’ve no idea what that involves.

It it a simple full reset in the Settings page or is there more to it?.
