Apple Pencil 2 Hairline Crack near nib

I recently purchased the Apple Pencil 2 (3 weeks ago) and have just found a crack towards the nib. I haven't dropped the device or anything and was wondering if I could get a free replacement since this is a defect with the fault on Apple’s behalf. Although it is a thin crack I am worried this will cause bigger issues in the future.

Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?:

Note that you have a one-year, out-of-the-box, limited-warranty with this. So, if it is covered under warranty, then see if you can get the Apple Pencil replaced. Being faulty, it likely would be nothing on you, price-wise. Simply, as Apple Support for a swapout.

NOTE: Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, calls are taking a bit linger to get through. And, that makes sense, because many are at home working out-of-the-house or are taking classes over-the-web, this they have more time on their hands to contact Apple Support. So, it might take a bit to get through to Apple Support. But, just stay on the line, and someone will be with yo

I was able to see the crack on your Apple Pencil 2 near the Tip. It appears that the Tip may have been screwed into the Apple Pencil too tight. The cause may be entirely something else and we will not know at this point.

I recommend that you take your Apple Pencil 2 to the local Apple Store or at the place of purchase and see whether they will exchange it for you. You may also begin with contacting ➔ Apple Support
